This pattern draws its inspiration from the abundance of detailed ironwork around Savannah, Georgia. It continues in a similar vein the exploration of light and texture relationships begun in Danse des Mirlitons. In this case, transluscent quilling on white paper and fine crystal dust create different patterns of highlight and shadow depending on the direction of the light hitting them. The composition was meticulously quilled using strips of Neenah Clearfold paper on bristol board, and is finished with marker and ultra fine Crystal Glitter in blue/violet.
